Disabled Extension Grants from Northern Ireland Housing Executive (Disabled Facilities Grant)What is a Disabled Facilities Grant? This grant is to help to improve the home of a person with a disability, and may be based on the recommendation of an Occupational Therapist. Based on these recommendations, the property may need extended to provide ground floor bathroom and bedroom facilities for those who cannot manage stairs anymore and where there is no current available space on the ground floor. Our role in the grants procedure is to secure Planning Permission and Building Control consent for any building works. These approvals are mandatory in NIHE Grants applications with all our fees paid within the grant allowance. At FmK Architecture we have extensive experience in disabled extensions and treat these projects with the same focus and dedication as we do with our larger scale designs.
